Law Enforcement Reality Training Systems

OVERVIEW

The Street Smarts virtual reality training equipment is an innovative program designed to provide immersive scenario-based law enforcement training that significantly enhances decision-making and response skills. This advanced technology provides realistic customizable scenarios that enable deputies and supervisors to practice and refine their techniques in a safe, controlled environment, ultimately improving their preparedness for real-world situations.

The Washington Counties Risk Pool has purchased two systems that are available for loan to our member agencies. System 1 is located on the westside of the State and System 2 is located on the eastside of the State. These cutting-edge tools allow law enforcement personnel to engage in hands-on training, helping them to develop critical skills in areas such as crisis negotiation, use of force decision-making, and situational awareness.

By incorporating this innovative training into your agency’s development programs, you can foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that your team is equipped to handle the challenges they may face on the job. We encourage all member agencies to take advantage of this valuable resource and elevate their training efforts.

RESERVING A STREET SMARTS VR TRAINING SYSTEM

  • Review Availability: Internally discuss your agency's training needs and determine the appropriate time for the VR training. WCRP can add users to the Microsoft (MS) Teams Calendar to enable members to check out the system. If users from your agency need access to the MS Teams Calendar, contact WCRP by emailing Risk-Claims@wcrp.wa.gov.
  • Submit a Reservation Request: Simply add your agency name and the system number to the MS Teams Calendar. We respectfully request that agencies reserve the system for no more than one month at a time.
  • Coordination of Check Out: View the current system location on the Map tab in the MS Teams Chanel. Coordinate pickup of the system with the agency that currently has the system.
  • Equipment Storage: Please store the equipment until another agency requests the system for use. We ask that all agencies coordinate with each other for pick up and drop off of the systems to ensure an efficient check out process.
